Paul is Assistant Professor of Classics at the University of Kansas, Lawrence. He holds a B.A. (Hons.) in German and Greek from the University of Sydney, with a thesis written under Eric Csapo and Yixu Yu on the reception of Aristophanes in the works and thought of Goethe, and a PhD in Classics from Princeton. . He is interested broadly in Greek literature and its reception, having worked on Greek literature and philosophy in 18th, 19th and 20th century German poetry, theatre and intellectual history. His other research interests include the intersections of early Greek philosophy and poetry, ancient rhetoric, the development of Athenian literary culture, and the history of poetics, aesthetics, and classical scholarship.
