The author of The Poetics of Ruins in Renaissance Literature and A Theory of the Aphorism from Confucius to Twitter, he works on the classical tradition of early modern Europe and the Global Renaissance. He is currently at work on The Renaissance Imaginary Library: A User’s Guide and Why Do We Go to Zoos and Museums: A Cultural Inquiry.
