Christopher Stray is Honorary Research Fellow at Swansea University, and Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Classical Studies, University of London. He has held visiting positions at Wolfson College, Cambridge and at the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton. He works on the history and sociology of classical teaching and learning at school and university level, and has also published on examinations, institutional slang and textbooks. Classics Transformed: Schools, Universities, and Society in Britain 1830-1960 was published by OUP in 1998. Current projects include work on collaborative volumes on E.R. Dodds, Liddell and Scott’s Greek lexicon and the history of Trinity College, Cambridge.
