Tim Whitmarsh is A.G. Leventis Professor of Greek Culture at the University of Cambridge. He has written widely on aspects of ancient Greek literature and its reception, particularly on the Greek world under Roman rule and on the ancient Greek novel. He is currently working on a synoptic study of ancient Greek atheism for Faber and Faber / Vintage.
